A Portable Wheel Wash System was recently commissioned in a remote area away from mains power or water in Central Queensland. Supplied by Accuweigh’s QWM branch in Brisbane, the Portable Wheel Wash System is being used for removing organic material from vehicles working on the Liquid Natural Gas Project near Gladstone.

A Portable Wheel Wash System was required for easy removal after the project’s expected completion in mid 2014. A portable 75kVA diesel generator was supplied by Accuweigh to provide operating power for the Wheel Wash System and other mains powered equipment on site.

An 8000 litre poly water tank with pressure pump was supplied to provide a backup water source for automatically topping up the water holding tank in the Wheel Wash System. An additional hand-held high pressure cleaner was also provided to allow manual cleaning of other machinery on site that can’t access the Portable Wheel Wash System.

Rather than eliminate track-out of mud onto public roads, Accuweigh’s Portable Wheel Wash System was purchased to prevent weed and seed contamination caused by vehicles passing between properties along the route of the underground gas pipeline which stretches from Dalby to Curtis Island – a distance of 540 kilometres.

Accuweigh’s Portable Wheel Wash incorporates high pressure brass spray heads connected to a high quality stainless steel pump to dislodge foreign materials and break-up clumps of soil and other material for effective material removal. A shaker grid six metres long was also supplied and positioned at the entrance to the wash bay to assist with dislodging heavy material build-up before the wash operation is initiated.

Sold and serviced by eight Accuweigh branches across Australia, the AccuWash Truck Wheel Wash systems are ideal for busy work sites like quarries, mine sites and landfill operations. The ever increasing EPA requirements may soon require a wheel wash system on every industrial work site where vehicles could leave track out on public roads.
